Home Projects

DSCN3324

These are my shoes after crawling under my house today. Nice huh?

Why was I crawling under my house today? Well we were hearing noise on our phone line and we had the phone guy come out to check the line.

When he opened up the crawl space there was a tiny little lake filling the crawl space under my house. So, last weekend we bought a sump pump and pumped out as much of the water as we could. This weekend I removed the plastic lining the crawl space under the house. It’s not as dry down there as I had hoped. Um Yeah it was not really something I hope I have to do again soon.

But the title is home projects, which is plural.

We also removed the Christmas Lights as Epiphany has come and gone. And so we have put out tree out in the street. I also bought a ladder so I did not have to borrow my dad’s ladder. But really nothing compares to being under the muddy house.

Speaking of mud I was in Martinez doing Loaves and Fishes the other day and that area looks like it was flooded pretty good. I was thankful that our house wasn’t ruined with flood waters. At any rate working soup kitchen was fun and I called the Loaves and Fishes president (er director?) and asked if there was more that I could do. if I don’t hear back soon I will call again. If I had thought to do that last year I would have been able to meet my goal. At any rate I will continue to work the Funny Face Service Challenge hours down and maybe the FFSC will return!

Hope the holidays was fun for you all. Wishing you a great new year filled with every good thing.
