He read their tarot. Each having a more fantastic, and terrifying future than the next. In Dr. Terror's card layout the fifth card represents a path by which the person can avoid the foretold future. Each of these guys gets the death card. The meaning they take is that each of these guys will avoid their horrible future by their own death. They get to the station which is abandoned and gloomy with plenty of dry ice and smoke machine. A newspaper drifts down from the sky. The headline reads 5 die in train accident. Well it looks like none of those dudes will have to suffer through their gloomy futures. The call to Dr. Terror and he turns showing the five that he is really the grim reaper and not a Doctor of a fortune teller at all. Why he had to scare them with a future that would never come to be is unclear. They five follow him into the station and the movie ends.

Academy Award for Christopher Lee for pretending to be a stodgy art critic who doesn't believe in the supernatural. When we all know he is Dracula! Actually the real vampire was Donald Sutherland's new wife. This to me is a strong case for getting to know your wife before you get married.
