Don’t Cut My Head Off
OK. I commented in outrage of the hazing photos. So in for a penny in for a pound. Right?

Firstly. I am still outraged at the photos. I am an American and when American troops enter any part of the world they are representing me. This conduct is not befitting of all the other troops who do the right thing, and it certainly does not represent me. Plus there's this little thing called the Geneva Convention. Calling them detainees is a cop out. We all know they are POWs. Is it worse than having your head cut off? Um, given the choice I'd rather keep my head attached.

But please all you babies out there, a beheading doesn't make it right. We are Americans and we are supposed to be a civilizing force, not an occupier. I don't care if it reminds you of a Britney Spears video. You aren't supposed to torture and humiliate people, even if they are trying to kill you. I think that killing that man, Nick Berg, was horrifying. I don't even want to see any part of that video if I can possibly help it. This is the kind of crap I expect from terrorists. They are the bad guys. I can't imagine how this guys family feels. He sounded like a kind and generous man. No one deserves to die like that. I mean even the French make sure the blade is sharp. Jesus.

The POWs should be detained, and interrogated and be brought to justice. That's not too much to ask for. We need to get ISO 9000 certified. You know, do what we say we do!?! C'mon guys lets work together to fix this. Not try and compare ills, or justify this stuff, or cover it up. Really, my point is we are not supposed to be the bad guys. We are supposed to be the good guys. Is that naive of me? Yes, I suppose it is.
