Bell Book and Candle
The weekend went by too quickly, far far too quickly. But some small amount of fun was gleaned on Sunday when we were invited by AH to go glow in the dark miniature golfing. "Because everything is better glow in the dark." I have to admit this was lots of fun. I only got hit in the foot by a couple that kept playing into us. The unfortunate part was that with three couples we were split into 2 groups of 3, so I was temporarily separated from Mrs. mice. This did not keep her from sneaking up behind me and groping me though. Surprisingly I did the best of the 6, with FG trailing by 1. I did enjoy our 3 person group with FG and MF. These two are just now dating each other and they are very cute together. I tried to be good and putt like my father taught me. But the whole thing is more luck than skill anyway. We then decided to rent a movie that AH has wanted to see called Bell Book and Candle. This is a movie with Jimmy Stewart and Kim Novak, In the same year as Vertigo about modern day urban witches. The movie is in New York and a love affair between a witch and a normal person is the center of the action.
The movie felt like it was the inspiration for Bewitched TV series. A girl who is a witch falls in love with a normal guy and must forsake her powers to really love him. Its kinda funny, kinda romantic. But I found some of the details a little off.
Witches never really love. Falling in Love cancels all their powers.
Witches cannot cry, nor blush.
What? Witches are not Vampires. There is even a line about being human (or not). Like Witches are not human or something. I'm sorry but all the Witches I know are very human. Anyway.
Monday has come too soon. Again.
